“The thing that’s best when you’re feeling glum
Is coconut water and a little rum.
It could make you very tipsy…
Make you feel like a gypsy…
Coco got a lot of iron…
Makes you strong like a Lion...”
“Coconut Woman” - Calypso by Harry Belafonte
Rum and Coconut Water is the perfect refresher for when you need to regain zest and vitality after a long day of tiring tropical activities. The recipe for this uniquely Caribbean brew is quite simple:
1.5oz English Harbour Rum
2 Oz Fresh Coconut Water
A Dash Of Freshly Squeezed Lime
Mix everything in a glass, stir and enjoy!
ABOUT THE INGREDIENTS:
ENGLISH HARBOUR RUM: Considered by many experts to be one of the finest blends of both Dark and Light Rum distilled in the Caribbean today, this rum is named after the famous Antiguan naval port of English Harbour – a picturesque theatre of war between Britain and France as they battled for world power in the 18th Century.

FRESH COCONUT WATER: And I mean fresh! Not the watered down, processed stuff in a can you may encounter at the supermarket. No Sir! At Cocobay we pick it fresh off the tree, slice it open and pour directly to your glass. Also, don’t confuse the water with the high-fat coconut milk or oil derived from the pulp of the fruit. Coconut water is the clear liquid in the fruit's center that is tapped from young, green coconuts. Served this way it is said to have many positive health benefits.
LIME JUICE: The lime in the mix is optional. Use it to add flavor and aroma to suit the palate of the drinker.
Now here’s hoping that you try one of these on your next Cocobay visit. Or if you can find fresh coconut water in your neck of the woods you may even try one today.
